The awards banquet will be Wednesday, July 27th. PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE. The banquet will begin at 6:00 in the Ottawa Memorial Park by the Red Caboose. There will be ice cream for all. Also, all swimmers and their families are welcome to swim at the Ottawa Pool from 7-8 after the banquet. We look forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to all swimmers and parents for competing and surviving their first GNOAC championship swim meet. We had an outstanding meet and you all should be very proud of yourselves not only for your performances but on how you began to interact as a team again and supported each other in your efforts to do your best. I speak for Amanda and myself when I say, even though it is a very long and very hot weekend, it was the most fun we had at championships in a very long time. My right arm is sore from turning my heat sheet so often and so fast when cheering you on. When I get with Amanda or Mike I will figure out how to put your team results on this website. I am at times still technologically behind the times. I am sure Todd Hall has overall meet results posted at the same site you went to to find the psych sheets. The highlights include our overall team placing 4th and missing 3rd behind Bryan swim team by only 54 points. When you seperate the boys and girls the boys took 3rd and the girls took 4th.
Congratulations to Ben Sealts, Brad Gerdeman, Seth Nelson, Brett Llewellyn, Grant Fuerst, Ethan Smith, TJ Oren, and Austin Horstman for winning the 11-12 boys age group.
Congratulations to all swimmers that participated this weekend you took a total of 1283.04 seconds off your previous times.
The year-end awards banquet is set for Wednesday, July 27th at 7:30 by the caboose in the Ottawa Park. Individual and team awards will be distributed and ice cream sundaes can be enjoyed by the swimmers and their families.
Once again, thank you to all the swimmers and parents for such a successful weekend.

Please go to the GNOAC Champs meet website http://days.usswim.net/GNOAC.htm to see the psyche sheets, daily schedule of events and other useful information for the upcoming weekend. Also, donuts for all swimmers on Friday! This is the last day of practice for the summer season. We are responsible for having 2 timers on Land 6 all weekend. If you can help/volunteer for any portion of the weekend please contact Sharon.

9-10 and older have practice this morning, 8 and under practice is cancelled. Please check out the section on championship information so you understand how champs work. If your availability has changed please let me know by Wednesday next week. My goal is to have line ups for champs done by Friday. They must be posted by Tuesday, July 5. I would like to enjoy the 4th of July weekend and not have to work. No changes may be made to entries after July 5th. My goal is to have entries for champs posted at the pool by Thursday. That way if there are any errors that I have not noticed, you will be able to let me know.

Just a reminder - summer swim practice is set to start this Wednesday, June 1st at the Ottawa Memorial Pool. Please watch this website for any cancellations. The practice times are as follows unless Coach Lisa or Coach Amanda tells a swimmer differently. Please note this year practices will be held Monday thru Friday. The coaches are requesting you attend 4 out of the 5 possible days. This was done to help with any scheduling conflicts and allows greater flexibility.

9:45-10:30 8 and under

Warm ups for every meet with the exception of Napoleon is 4:00 pm for home meets, and 4:30 for away meets. Meet start is 5:00. The Napoleon meet have warm ups scheduled for 8:00 am. and meet start time is 8:45.
An additional meet may be held on Wednesday, June 29 against Leipsic. This meet would not count as one of the two meets for the GNOAC, but will give swimmers another opportunity to swim. This meet will most likely be held at the Putnam County YMCA.
The rules are the same for this league as they were for the BSSL. Each swimmer must swim in two meets to be eligible to swim at champs. The league is flexible, and if the Tuesday/Thursday meets do not work for us this year we can move at least our home meets back to Wednesday nights next year. The coaches were very open and willing to rearrange schedules and nights if possible.
The Ottawa Tiger Shark swim team has officially been accepted into the GNOAC. A schedule has been set and Sharon Stechshulte is working on registration forms. These forms will be posted on the web site for you to down load by next week. I know there are some with reservations about this move, but I honestly feel this will be a good move for our program.
